Garden Pediatrics is a general pediatric practice with two board-certified pediatricians, Dr. Cameo Carter, MD, Dr. Erika McClure, MD and Dr. Samantha Tschen, MD, who are also moms. You can request one to be your primary pediatrician who you will see for your child’s well visits and most sick visits. If your primary pediatrician is unavailable, you may be seen by the other pediatrician in the practice.

Dr. Carter, Dr. McClure and Dr. Tschen alternate hospital and phone call every week starting Monday morning. If you phone our main number after hours you will be directed to the on-call doctor’s mobile. If she is unable to answer immediately, you can leave a voicemail being sure to leave your name, your child’s name and phone number. Dr. Carter, Dr. McClure or Dr. Tschen will then call you back at their next availability. If it is something we can address over the phone then your needs will be taken care of that way. If it is an emergency you should go to the ER. Although the ER will then take care of your child, we would like to be notified that your child has been seen so that we can do appropriate follow-up, so please call our office to let us know.

We offer a complimentary pre-delivery visit as you await your new baby. Please call and schedule a visit with one of our pediatricians. During this appointment you will tour our office and meet with either Dr. Carter, Dr. McClure or Dr. Tschen. This time is valuable to discuss how Garden Pediatrics operates, any concerns you may have and a health care plan for your newborn.

We have privileges at both Redlands Community Hospital as well as Loma Linda University Medical Center. We have asked the nursery to notify us within several hours of your baby’s birth so that we can come and see him or her.

If you wish, we offer circumcisions for infant males. This can be done at the hospital or soon after in our office. Some health plans do not cover this procedure but can be paid by you directly.

The birth of a baby is an exciting time for everyone. It can also be a little scary, especially the first time. We are here to support you and your new child as you navigate this new adventure together.

Arrival and Late Policy
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first visit to The Garden to allow time for paperwork and registration. On subsequent visits, we ask you to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time. We strive to make sure that you are seen by the doctor at the time you are scheduled. In order to accomplish this goal, we may have to reschedule your appointment if you are more than 10 minutes late.

Missed (“Failed”) Appointments and Cancellations
At Garden Pediatrics, we make every effort to see you at your convenience and we are happy to provide that service. We ask in return that you make every effort to be here when scheduled. We do have a policy that if you have failed more than three visits we may ask you to find an alternate pediatrician. Failed appointments are when a scheduled visit has been missed without any prior communication. To avoid this, when possible please be sure to call us at least 48hrs in advance if you have a known change of schedule.

If you have multiple cancellations there will be a fee assessed (please see financial policy).

Food and Drink Policy
You may notice that other suites in our building do not allow food or drink inside. However, we do allow your child to have snacks and drinks in our office. Please make sure liquids have a leak proof top and help us keep not only our suite clean but also the building in general.

Language Policy
Drs. Carter and McClure are English speaking. Dr. Tschen is bilingual (English/Spanish) and is available during office hours to translate. If you have a question after office hours and you are not primarily English speaking, we ask that you have someone available to translate for us.
